In most births we find the annoying tears that can arise when coming out or during childbirth. These are cases where a small vaginal tear or where an episiotomy has been performed. Tears can be forced by a natural fact, but episiotomy is one of the almost necessary accidents which are used to reduce certain consequences during childbirth. These cuts are made to make it easier for the baby to get out and are therefore a common technique.

How long does it take for the birth stitches to fall off?
The sutures performed in both an episiotomy and a second degree tear they can include discomfort for three weeks. After this time, the dots do not fall off, but are absorbed and dissolve. The specialist will make a small estimate of your progress during this time, as, if there is a possible infection, recovery may be much slower.
As the days go by, if everything evolves correctly within those three weeks and if all hygiene measures are followed, the stitches will dry. After the resorption of the points the wound will gradually heal.

What is the recovery of stitches after a caesarean section?
Recovery from a cesarean section is usually much more complex and lengthy. The mother must be careful in her movements so as not to allow the wound to open and the whole wound to heal normally.
Traditionally applied stitches will retract on their ownbut if I applied staples, they should be removed at the 10 or 12 days after caesarean section. The obstetrician or gynecologist assesses the healing and can remove it in consultation. If the wound is not in good condition, some stitches can be removed and the next in the following days.
The area may be numb and you may feel a little tingling. It’s completely normal. To take care of the area, massage daily and add musk oil to moisturize, soothe and regenerate the area.
